Cracksealing is technically a maintenance activity rather than a capital improvement project. However, since it occurs on the streets, it is being included in this section.
Cracksealing is part of an overall pavement maintenance plan, preventing water and debris from getting into the joints and causing deterioration. It is one of the most basic and cost-effective maintenance practices.
The 2023 project will consist of streets generally west of Ballas Road, equating to about half the city's streets. The streets generally east of Ballas Road are completed in even years.
